The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver, and Western Canada was established in March 2013 by Pope Tawadros II. It spans Ontario (outside Toronto’s core), Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, and is led by His Grace Bishop Mina.

The Coptic Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary is celebrated on August 22 (the 16th of Mesore).

It marks the end of the 15-day Fast of St. Mary (August 7–21), a deeply revered spiritual season in the Coptic Orthodox Church dedicated to prayer, strict fasting, and nightly revival meetings
